Our HSBC Online Banking Account (HOBA), is an account which you can use solely online through our electronic channels. You can also benefit from very attractive features.

Features of the HSBC Online Banking Account?

  • Withdrawals are on demand.
  • Account is a current account (having the use of a cheque book) that doubles up as a savings account.

What is the credit interest rate on the account?

3% p.a. for balance over €5,000
1% p.a. for balance up to €4,999.99

Are there any restrictions which apply should I open an HSBC Online Banking Account?

  • Where more than 60 cheques are presented per annum, a charge of €2.33 per additional cheque presented is charged.
  • Cash withdrawal transactions affected at the branch tellers on the Online Banking Account will incur a €2.33 charge per transaction.

What do I have to do to open an HSBC Online Banking Account?

  • If you already hold a current account or savings account with us, all you need to do is simply log on to our Personal Internet Banking, then click on Accounts > Open New Account. Click here to Log On.
  • If you hold a current or savings account but have not yet registered for our fee free Personal Internet Banking service, click here to register.
  • If you are a new HSBC customer or you do not hold a current or savings account with HSBC, you can still benefit from our Online Banking Account by clicking here and applying online. (The account and Quikcash will be activated once you confirm your identity at any one of our branches)
