Log on to the HSBC Malta Mobile Banking app using your face or your fingerprint

Your face or your fingerprint makes an excellent security device. No two faces or fingerprints are exactly the same and you’ve always got them with you.

And if you’ve got an iPhone* with Face ID or Touch ID sensor enabled, you can log on to the HSBC Malta Mobile Banking app faster using your face or fingerprint – it’s a simple and secure alternative that replaces having to input your Username, Memorable Answer and Mobile Banking Password.

How to enable Touch ID & Face ID in 4 simple steps

 

1. Enrol your Fingerprint or Face
In your iPhone Settings, make sure you’ve registered your fingerprints or your face.

 

2. Log on
Now open the HSBC Malta Mobile Banking app and enter your Username, Memorable Answer and Mobile Banking Password.**

 

3. Enable
You will be presented with a screen describing Touch ID or Face ID. Click on the ‘Enable Touch ID’ or ‘Enable Face ID’ button.

 

4. Verify
Re–enter your Mobile Banking Password and scan your fingerprint or face for verification.

Important security information

When you enable Touch ID or Face ID log on, any fingerprint or face registered on your device, now or in the future, can be used to log on to the HSBC Malta Mobile Banking app. You should only enable Touch ID if you're the only person who has registered fingerprints on your device. Alternatively, you should only enable Face ID if the facial recognition information stored on your device is your own.
