As well as €60 to welcome you onboard, you'll also get the chance to win up to €500 in Hudson coins.

All new to bank students who open an HSBC Student Account, between 3 June and 31 October 2024, will be entered into a competition for a chance to win some great prizes.

 

10 eligible students will be randomly selected to take part in a fun general knowledge quiz, with a total prize fund of €2,000 worth of Hudson coins to be won. 

 

Hudson coins can be redeemed at various outlets including Kiabi, Urban Jungle and Tommy Hilfiger, as listed on the Hudson Group's website.

How to apply

To apply for an HSBC Student Account, you'll need to be:


- A full time student

- Aged between 13 and 30

- In receipt of a direct credit of stipend

 

Students without a stipend need to provide an acceptance letter from the academic institution to prove they're in full time education.

2024 HSBC Student Campaign - Terms and Conditions

  1. These rules apply to the 2024 Student Campaign run by HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c. ('HSBC') from 3 June 2024 until 31 October 2024, as promoted on, and run through, the HSBC website and the HSBC social media channels ('the 2024 HSBC Student Campaign').

  2. HSBC will be giving a €60 cashback to students who:

     

    a. will be 16 years old or older by the end of 2024;

    b. are starting their post-secondary or tertiary education in 2024 or are already in post-secondary or tertiary education;

    c. open an HSBC Student Account between 3 June 2024 and 31 October 2024 or already have an HSBC Student Account; and

    d. start crediting their stipend into their HSBC Student Account from the scholastic year starting in 2024.

  3. Students who are eligible for the €60 cashback in terms of clause 2 above will receive €60 directly in their HSBC Student Account once their first stipend for the scholastic year starting in 2024 is credited to their HSBC Student Account.
  4. HSBC will also be giving 10 eligible students in terms of clause 5 below, the opportunity to participate in a competition with the chance to win up to €500 worth in Hudson coins (“the Hudson Competition”) in terms of clause 10 below.

  5. Only the following students are eligible to participate in the draw for the selection of the 10 students who will be given the opportunity to participate in the Hudson Competition (“the Draw”):

     

    a. students who will be 16 years old or older by the end of 2024;

    b. students who are starting their post-secondary or tertiary education in 2024 or are already in post-secondary or tertiary education;

    c. students who open an HSBC Student Account between 3 June 2024 and 31 October 2024; and

    d. students who were not HSBC customers prior to the opening of the said HSBC Student Account in terms of clause 5(c) above.

     

    For the avoidance of doubt, students who are eligible for the €60 cashback in terms of clause 2 above but who already had an HSBC Student Account prior to 3 June 2024 or who were already HSBC customers prior to 3 June 2024 are not eligible to participate in the Draw.

  6. The Hudson Competition will be organised in the form of a general knowledge quiz which will be held after the end of the 2024 HSBC Student Campaign.
  7. Students eligible for the Draw in terms of clause 5 above can only be drawn once.
  8. The Draw will take place in November 2024 in the presence of 4 senior HSBC employees, where 10 students will be randomly selected from those students who are eligible to participate in the Draw in terms of clause 5 above.
  9. The 10 randomly selected students will be invited to HSBC’s Innovation Hub at Head Office, 80 Mill Street, Qormi QRM3101, Malta, to take part in the general knowledge quiz in order to establish ranking.

  10. The total prize fund for the Hudson Competition is of €2,000 worth of Hudson coins, which will be awarded according to ranking as follows:

     

    1st place - €500

    2nd place - €400

    3rd place - €300

    4th place - €200

    5th to 10th places - €100 each

  11. Should one or more of the 10 students randomly selected for participation in the Hudson Competition not be able to take part in the general knowledge quiz, they will not qualify for any of the prizes referred to in clause 10 above and alternate participants will be randomly selected to take their place from the students eligible for the Draw in terms of clause 5 above. Such selections will also take place in the presence of four senior HSBC employees.
  12. HSBC shall not be held liable (except to the extent permitted by law) for any loss or damage: (i) arising out of organising or holding the Draw and/or Hudson Competition; or (ii) resulting from participation in the Draw and/or Hudson Competition; or (iii) resulting from winning, collecting, using or enjoying any prizes referred to in clause 10 above; or (iv) which may arise if the Hudson Competition does not run as planned.
  13. The 10 students randomly selected to take part in the Hudson Competition will be responsible for making their own arrangements and/or for any expenses required in order to take part in the general knowledge quiz, including any necessary transport costs. For the avoidance of doubt, HSBC will not reimburse any such expenses.
  14. The student who ranks first in the general knowledge quiz agrees to have his/her name and photograph published by HSBC in local media, social media, and the HSBC website for publicity purposes.
  15. HSBC reserves the right to suspend or terminate the Hudson Competition or to amend these terms and conditions at any time for any legal, regulatory, administrative, technical or commercial reason and without any prior notice.
