Life is not a solo flight

Successful business people may have had the coolest, most innovative idea, yet they take no issue in leaning on others at crucial points along their journey.

For Paul McAlister, who started his business with his wife 13 years ago, progressing as a team has been the mantra.

“We started from scratch, so passion was always going to be there,” emphasises Paul. Yet that unwavering passion would not have translated into success were it not for teamwork. “We are a team and we must work as a team,” he says.

In fact, many small businesses succeed because they have owners at the helm who prioritise building a support network, keeping their overheads low and avoiding distractions at all costs, to list a few.

Avoiding distractions is exactly what HSBC Fusion allows them to do, combining business and personal financial management for small-business owners into one easy to manage account.

“What I like about the internet banking side of HSBC Fusion is that I can see all my accounts at once. Whether it is business, personal or loans - everything is on one page, so I can go ahead and see exactly what is happening. I can transfer money from one account to the other. And it is really, really easy and simple to do and having that whole picture in front of me helps a lot,” says Caroline McAlister.
