Not Just A Number | HSBC Fusion Customer Stories - HSBC Malta

The world of art is characterised by creative and talented individuals, many of whom produce inspiring and memorable works – sometimes at great personal sacrifice, and against the odds.

When artist Alan Azzopardi began losing vision in one of his eyes, some eight years ago, he feared the worst: having to give up on something that he cares so passionately about.

“I couldn’t continue doing what I was doing without my eyesight,” recalls Alan, who ended up receiving a transplant.

Today, this easy-going and sociable man is very busy - creating fascinating and highly sought after artwork. He feels grateful that he can still be productive, as his craft is also his principal source of income.

His income is managed by HSBC Fusion which, according to him, has helped him draw lines between his personal and business finances and keep the business ticking.

“In my line of work, there is a very fine line between the two, as drawing might be considered as something personal. So being able to separate my personal and business accounts has helped me a lot,” he explains. Previously, Alan had everything in one account.

“What struck me most about HSBC Fusion is that there is a Fusion Specialist who I can speak to one-to-one whenever I need something… I’m not just a number.”
