That's why we've created the HSBC Key FIVE Critical Illness Cover plan. It gives you and your loved one's financial support should you unexpectedly fall ill with the 5 most common critical illnesses:

  • Cancer
  • Stroke
  • Heart attack
  • Coronary artery bypass grafting
  • Kidney failure

Why get cover with us

Depending on the severity level of the covered critical illness, the HSBC Key FIVE Critical Illness Cover plan pays out a lump sum that you can use in any way you like to support you or your family during these difficult times.

You can use the pay-out to clear existing debts such as your mortgage, or to help with your living expenses while you recover.

You can also use the sum assured to cover any other medical or treatment-related expenses that may not be covered by your health insurance or contribute towards rehabilitation costs.

The plan also offers you the possibility to choose to cover your loved ones* who will benefit from the lump sum pay-out in case of you or the person you chose to cover falls critically ill.

*The Policyowner must have an insurable interest in the Life Assured.

Benefits

  • 5 most common critical illnesses
    The HSBC Key FIVE Critical Illness Cover plan, covers the 5 most common critical illnesses1.
  • Lump sum payment
    Based on the severity level, if the Life Assured is diagnosed with a covered critical illness within the period of cover that meets our policy definitions.
  • Guaranteed Life Assurance
    If no critical illness pay-outs would have been made, we pay €2,500 to the Beneficiary in the event of death of the Life Assured, within the term of the plan2.
  • Choose the length of cover
    From 5 to 50 years - and the cover can last until you are 75 years old.
  • Child Cover Benefit
    Free Child Benefit equivalent to 10% of the sum assured (up to €30,000) on the covered Critical Illnesses.
  • Cover up to €300,000
    You can choose the level of cover assured according to your needs, starting from €40,000 up to a maximum of €300,000 (across multiple plans)3.

Eligibility

You can take out an HSBC Key FIVE Critical Illness Cover if you are:

  • An HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c. customer
  • Between the ages of 18 and 69 years
  • A resident of Malta
